Steel blasting abrasive, angular
Angular cast steel (STEEL GRIT) pursuant DIN ISO 11124–3
Angular grain (steel grit) is produced by breaking a material with a similar chemical analysis as that of the spherical material (steel shot). Compared to round abrasive, angular material has a higher abrasiveness due to the broken sharp edges.
This abrasiveness is necessary for some blasting tasks (e.g. roller roughening, surface roughening for spray galvanising) despite the resulting increased equipment wear.
